 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  FEDERAL HIGH COURT PORTHARCOURT STRIKES OUT CASE  AGAINST NOSDRA


Federal high court sitting in Portharcourt Rivers State, has struck out a case brought against the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency, NOSDRA, filed by Percy Nyengiyikado and Aribiba Ngeribara and other 998 fishermen and women of Yayo-Ama village of Bolo community in Ogu/Bolo LGA for lack of merit..


According to the Director General of NOSDRA Chukwuemek Woke, the plaintiff acting as representatives of about one thousand fishermen and women of yayo-Ama village in Ogu Bolo LGA, filed a case against the agency in 2018, compelling the agency to perform  certain specific statutory duties in respect of two oil spills that occurred in 2008/2009 at the bolo west oil fields against shell petroleum development company of Nigeria.

In a landmark judgement delivered by Hon Justice E.A Obile,the case was struck out for lacking merit.
