 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. IGP ORDERS POSTING OF NEW DEPUTY INSPECTOR-GENERAL OF POLICE TO OVERSEE THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION


The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has approved the posting of DIG Mohammed Adamu Dankwara as the new Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Department of Finance and Administration. 


DIG Dankwara replaces DIG Sahabo Abubakar Yahaya who recently retired from the Force after over three decades of distinguished and meritorious service. Prior to his elevation, DIG Dankwara served as the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Abuja, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership, professionalism, and dedication to duty.


IGP Egbetokun, while congratulating the senior officer on his new appointment, expressed confidence in his capacity to bring his wealth of experience to bear in strengthening the administrative functions of the Nigeria Police Force. The posting is in line with the IGP’s commitment to repositioning the Force for greater efficiency and effectiveness in the discharge of its statutory responsibilities.


The Nigeria Police Force remains resolute in its mission to ensure the safety and security of all citizens through strategic leadership placements and performance excellence.
