  A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene.  Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.  A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous.  Anambra Governorship Election:

INEC Begins Distribution Of Non-Sensitive Materials


Ahead of the Anambra governorship election, the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, has commenced the distribution of non- sensitive materials from the Central Bank of Nigeria  Awka to the 21 local government areas. 

With this task completed, INEC is said to have finished 12 of its processes and is now ready to conduct the election on Saturday, 8th November 2025. 

The distributions were conducted with all stakeholders present under the supervision of the Commissioner of Police for Anambra State, Abayomi Shogunle.
