 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  Jessica Simpson marks eight years sober

Singer, actress, and reality TV star Jessica Simpson is marking eight years of sobriety this weekend.

On Instagram Saturday, Simpson, 45, reflected on the milestone, writing that eight years ago she made the decision to confront and let go of the self-sabotaging habits in her life. She said choosing sobriety allowed her to fully embrace what she describes as God’s purpose for her life, noting that alcohol had previously clouded her intuition and blocked her dreams.

“Both fear and faith are something that we feel and may not see,” Simpson wrote. “I’m so happy I chose faith over fear. It was not in the fight that I found my strength, it was in the surrender.” She is also the author of the 2020 memoir Open Book.
