 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Lakers’ Deandre Ayton out with knee injury, team confident in backups

Los Angeles Lakers center Deandre Ayton left Sunday’s game against the Utah Jazz with a right knee contusion and did not return in the second half of the 108-106 win in Salt Lake City. Ayton, who recorded two points and three rebounds, was injured in the first quarter and exited midway through the second.

“He got hit on his leg in the first half and was limping through it,” Lakers coach J.J. Redick said. “Then he couldn’t go in the second half.” Redick did not comment on the severity of the injury but expressed confidence in the team’s depth. Backup center Jaxson Hayes started the second half, contributing five points and four rebounds in 18 minutes. Luka Doncic led the Lakers with 33 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists, while Austin Reaves added 22 points and 10 rebounds. LeBron James recorded 17 points, eight assists, and six rebounds, and Maxi Kleber chipped in two points and three rebounds off the bench.

The Lakers (12-4) will next face the Los Angeles Chippers (5-12) in an NBA Cup group stage game at 11 p.m. EST Tuesday in Los Angeles.
