 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

Man sets house on fire in Ghana, kills wife and six children before taking his own life


A tragic incident has left the people of Akyempim in Ghana’s Central Region in shock after a man allegedly set his home ablaze, killing his wife and six children.


Reports say the victims included his wife, five of their children aged between one and fifteen, and the family’s eldest daughter.


According to the Ghana National Fire Service, investigations revealed that the man allegedly locked the room from the outside before setting the house on fire while the family was asleep.


A disturbing video from the scene showed residents retrieving what was left of the victims from the burnt house, their bodies completely burnt beyond recognition. The heartbreaking sight drew tears from onlookers as locals and emergency workers joined efforts to recover the remains.


Hours later, the man was found dead in a nearby bush, hanging from a tree — confirming suspicions that he had taken his own life.
