 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  PRESIDENT TINUBU MOURNS JUSTICE MUKHTAR DODO


President Bola Tinubu has expressed grief over the passing of Justice Mukhtar Muhammad Dodo (rtd), who died on Sunday at the age of 70.

 In a statement Bayo Onanuga Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, "the late jurist, who hailed from Katsina State, had a long and illustrious career in the Judiciary before his retirement.

 

He served as Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and later as a High Court judge of the Federal Capital Territory.

 

President Tinubu described the deceased as an upright judicial officer, a patriotic Nigerian and a fearless jurist who spent his life contributing to the strengthening of Nigeria’s judicial system.

 

The President while praying for the repose of the soul of the departed retired justice also prayed Allah to give his family the fortitude to bear the loss.

 

The President also extended his commiseration to the government and people of Katsina State, as well as the Dodo family.
