AU urges de-escalation as fighting displaces over 180,000 in South Sudan’s Jonglei state The Chairperson of the African Union Commission called for immediate de-escalation and strict adherence to South Sudan’s 2018 peace agreement, as renewed fighting in Jonglei State displaced more than 180,000 people and raised fears of further civilian harm. In a statement, African Union Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf said he was deeply concerned by the deteriorating security situation in parts of the country, particularly Jonglei, where escalating violence and inflammatory rhetoric have put civilians—including women and children—at heightened risk. South Sudanese authorities estimate the number of displaced in Jonglei at more than 180,000, the United Nations humanitarian agency OCHA said last week.  Sean 'Diddy' Combs transferred to federal prison in New Jersey

Sean "Diddy" Combs has been transferred to a federal prison in New Jersey following his conviction on prostitution-related charges in New York, according to online prison records.

The music mogul is now housed at FCI Fort Dix, a federal correctional institution located on the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, northeast of Philadelphia. Online records show that as recently as Monday, Combs was at a detention center in Brooklyn. A spokesperson for Combs declined to comment on the transfer.

Combs’ legal team had requested placement at FCI Fort Dix to address drug treatment needs and allow for maximum family visitation and rehabilitation, according to a letter submitted to the judge. Earlier this month, the 55-year-old was sentenced to just over four years after being convicted on two counts of violating the Mann Act, which prohibits transporting anyone for purposes related to prostitution or other immoral activity. He is appealing both his conviction and sentence, with an expected release in May 2028.

Combs was acquitted of more serious sex trafficking and racketeering charges in July following a high-profile trial in New York City. He has been in custody since his arrest in September 2024. FCI Fort Dix houses over 4,100 inmates and is described as a low-security federal prison with an adjacent minimum-security camp.
