 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  VP Shettima Arrives Bauchi To Attend Funeral of Late Sheikhh Dahiru Usman Bauchi


Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Bauchi, leading the Federal Government delegation to the funeral of the late Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, one of the country’s most revered Islamic scholars whose lifelong devotion to knowledge and spiritual guidance shaped generations across Nigeria and beyond.


He departed Abuja earlier today at the behest of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and is accompanied by a strong delegation that includes the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu; Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Sen. Abubakar Kyari; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar; Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate; Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi; Senators Abdulaziz Yari and Shehu Buba; along with senior presidential aides, Special Adviser to the President, Dr. Aliyu Modibbo Umar; Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, amongst others.


The Vice President will also condole with the bereaved family, the Tijjaniyya movement, and the wider Muslim community, and pray for God’s mercy upon Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi’s soul and for comfort for all who mourn him.
