  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report.  2027: BENUE GOVT TELLS APPOINTEES, DECLARE NOW OR STEP ASIDE

The Benue State Government has directed all political appointees seeking to contest elective offices to formally declare their intentions and tender their resignation letters.


In a statement issued from the Office of the Deputy Governor, the directive follows the surge in political activities and growing expressions of interest in elective positions across the state.


According to the notice, affected appointees are required to submit written expressions of interest for their preferred offices, alongside formal resignation letters, to the Office of the Deputy Governor on or before Thursday, December 18, 2025.


The submissions will be transmitted to Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormen Alia for further consideration and necessary action.


The government said the move is aimed at ensuring order, transparency, and focus within the administration as it continues to advance its governance agenda.


The statement was signed by the Deputy Governor of Benue State, Barr. Dr. Sam Ode, mni, who urged prompt compliance by all concerned.
