 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali.  Anthony Joshua Involves in Road Crash, Two Allegedly Die


Ogun State Police Command has confirmed that World heavyweight Boxing Star Anthony Joshua has been involved in a road crash along Lagos Abeokuta Expressway this Monday along the Lagos Ibadan Expressway in Makun area of Ogun State


The statement says the vehicle conveying  Joshua, a Lexus Jeep with the number plate, KRD 850 HN, reportedly collided with a stationary truck under circumstances that are still being investigated.


It was reported that Anthony Joshua sustained minor injuries while two people were feared dead.


The statement adds that  the accident occurred just before Danco Filling Station in Makun, before the Sagamu Interchange inward Ibadan axis of the road.


Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi also states that Anthony Joshua and other injured persons have been rushed to the hospital for prompt medical intervention.


The command promises to give updates on the matter.
