 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  Domestic Dispute Turns Deadly as Woman Killed, Suspect Also Dies Following Community Attack 


 A 38-year-old woman was killed following an alleged domestic dispute involving her 40-year-old boyfriend on 26 December 2025 at about 16h30 pm at Tjibeng village. It is reported that the woman had locked herself inside the house, fearing for her safety.


 The suspect allegedly gained entry after convincing a family member that he only wanted to speak to her. Shortly after, the suspect was seen fleeing the scene carrying a knife.


 The woman was found critically injured and was declared dead at the scene by emergency services. The victim’s brother later located the suspect and attempted to apprehend him. During the confrontation, the brother was stabbed and sustained injuries.


 The suspect was later attacked by community members near a tavern and sustained severe injuries. Emergency medical services were called, and the suspect was certified dead at the scene.
