 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. TENSION IN GBOKO AS YOUTHS APPREHEND MAN OVER SAME-SEX ALLEGATION

A man was on Tuesday apprehended by a group of youths in Gboko, Benue State, over allegations of engaging in a same-sex relationship.


According to a video circulating on social media, the man was accused of travelling from Lagos to Gboko to visit another male companion. The youths who intercepted him questioned the purpose of the visit and alleged that the meeting suggested a same-sex encounter.


The incident has generated conversations across the community, with some residents expressing concern over rising cases of moral disputes and others warning against mob actions and public shaming.


Security observers have advised that matters of this nature be reported to the police for proper investigation instead of being handled by youths or vigilante groups.


As of the time of filing this report, the Benue State Police Command has not issued an official statement on the incident.
