 AU urges de-escalation as fighting displaces over 180,000 in South Sudan’s Jonglei state The Chairperson of the African Union Commission called for immediate de-escalation and strict adherence to South Sudan’s 2018 peace agreement, as renewed fighting in Jonglei State displaced more than 180,000 people and raised fears of further civilian harm. In a statement, African Union Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf said he was deeply concerned by the deteriorating security situation in parts of the country, particularly Jonglei, where escalating violence and inflammatory rhetoric have put civilians—including women and children—at heightened risk. South Sudanese authorities estimate the number of displaced in Jonglei at more than 180,000, the United Nations humanitarian agency OCHA said last week.  The Osbourne family came together on December 25, 2025, for a heartfelt Christmas gathering at Sharon Osbourne's home in Buckinghamshire, marking their first holiday season without beloved patriarch Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away earlier this year at age 76.


Kelly Osbourne shared touching photos on Instagram showing 14 family members, including grandchildren and pets, all wearing matching navy, red, and green plaid pajamas—a sweet tradition she organized to bring comfort and closeness during this emotional time. Sharon, 73, stood proudly in the center with a playful smile, surrounded by loved ones, while Kelly sat with her husband Sid Wilson and their young son Sidney near a beautifully decorated tree.


The family focused on unity and cherished memories, with Kelly captioning the post "Merry Christmas from The Osbourne family!!!" to spread warmth and joy amid the bittersweet day. Jack Osbourne spent the holiday in Los Angeles, but the gathering highlighted the strength and love that continue to bind the Osbournes.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
