 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  TOR TIV APPOINTS 19 VASSAL KINGS NATIONWIDE TO REPRESENT TIV THRONE


13th December, 2025   


The Paramount Ruler of the Tiv Nation, His Royal Majesty, the Tor Tiv, Prof. James Ortese Iorzua Ayatse, CFR, has appointed nineteen Uter (Vassal Kings) across Nigeria to serve as official emissaries of the Tiv throne in their respective states.


The investiture ceremony took place on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at the Tor Tiv Palace in Gboko. During the event, the monarch presented Certificates of Appointment and Letters of Introduction to facilitate formal recognition by government institutions, traditional councils, and security agencies nationwide.


Designated as second-grade traditional rulers, the newly appointed Uter are tasked with promoting Tiv culture, strengthening unity among Tiv communities in the diaspora, and serving as credible links between the Tiv traditional institution and state authorities where they reside.

Addressing the appointees, the Tor Tiv charged them to be worthy ambassadors of the Tiv people, uphold cultural values, and work for peace, unity, and inclusiveness wherever they serve.


The appointments underscore the Tiv traditional institution’s commitment to strengthening cohesion among Tiv communities nationwide and deepening engagement with host states through recognized traditional leadership.
