Marilyn Manson's sexual assault case by former assistant reinstated under new California law A previously dismissed sexual assault case against Marilyn Manson, filed by former assistant Ashley Walters, was revived Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court under a new California law extending the statute of limitations for certain sexual abuse claims. Judge Steve Cochran granted Walters’ motion for reconsideration, vacating his December 2025 ruling that had dismissed the case and allowing it to proceed toward trial. The original suit, first filed in 2021, accused Manson, whose legal name is Brian Warner, of sexual harassment, sexual battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and wrongful termination based on her time working for him in 2010–2011. Previous attempts to move the case forward were blocked because the claims were made years after the alleged incidents, with courts initially ruling that the delayed discovery doctrine did not apply.  Vanity Fair cuts ties with Olivia Nuzzi amid Robert F. Kennedy Jr. controversy

Vanity Fair is ending its relationship with West Coast editor Olivia Nuzzi amid controversy over her past involvement with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. while she was a Washington correspondent for New York magazine. A statement Friday from both Nuzzi and the publication said they “have mutually agreed, in the best interest of the magazine, to let her contract expire at the end of the year.” Nuzzi had joined Vanity Fair as West Coast editor in September.

Nuzzi, 32, gained prominence at New York magazine for her political profiles until 2024, when it was revealed she had a personal relationship with Kennedy, then a presidential candidate and now head of the Department of Health and Human Services. She was fired from New York magazine for failing to disclose the relationship. She later recounted the relationship and its fallout in her memoir, American Canto, which refers to Kennedy as “The Politician” and her ex-fiancé Ryan Lizza as “the man I did not marry.” The memoir’s release coincided with Lizza posting allegations on Substack, including claims that Nuzzi had an affair with another profile subject and had offered political advice to Kennedy—both considered off-limits for journalists. Lizza also published private text messages from Kennedy to Nuzzi that he had obtained.

Nuzzi dismissed Lizza’s posts as “fiction-slash-revenge porn” in a Substack interview. The announcement of her departure came shortly after the release of American Canto, which was poorly received by critics and ranked low on Amazon’s bestseller list. Critics described the memoir as lacking substance, with one calling it “a tell-nothing memoir.” Nuzzi responded to the difficult week with humor, publishing a Substack column titled “Signs Your Book Rollout Has Gone Awry,” which included quips such as “Monica Lewinsky reaches out to check on your mental health.”
