 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali.  Nigerians push back at Air France staff over in-flight service complaints


A video circulating online shows some Nigerian passengers confronting an Air France staff member over the airline’s onboard services.


In the footage, a man is seen arguing with the flight attendant, joined by other Nigerians who said they were not even served water during the flight.


When the attendant told the man to “shut up,” other Nigerian passengers intervened, telling her to also “shut up”. At one point, the staff member who was joined by other staff threatened to call the police, but the Nigerians passengers told her to go on and make the call.


It remains unclear what happened following the confrontation.
