 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. Actor Kiefer Sutherland arrested over alleged altercation with ride-share driver

Actor Kiefer Sutherland was arrested early Monday in Los Angeles following an alleged altercation with a ride-hail driver, authorities confirmed. The 59-year-old Emmy winner was taken into custody just after midnight near Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue, south of the Hollywood Hills.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Sutherland reportedly entered the ride-hail vehicle, physically assaulted the driver, and made criminal threats. He was booked on suspicion of felony criminal threats and later released on a $50,000 bond. No injuries requiring medical attention were reported. His first court appearance is set for Feb. 2.
Sutherland is best known for his role as Jack Bauer on the TV series 24 and has appeared in films including Melancholia, Tinsel Town, The Lost Boys, and Young Guns. He also starred in Rob Reiner’s Stand by Me and A Few Good Men. He is the son of the late actor Donald Sutherland, who passed away in June 2024.
