Sean Strickland forcibly removed from UFC White House event by Secret Service UFC Middleweight Champion Sean Strickland was removed from the UFC Freedom 250 Fan Fest at the Ellipse in Washington, D.C., after showing up despite claiming he had been excluded from the White House event.  Strickland later clarified on Instagram that he was not arrested but suggested he might face a disorderly conduct charge, which in D.C. carries penalties of up to 90 days in jail or a $500 fine.  His presence drew immediate hostility from the pro-Trump crowd, with chants of “USA” erupting before Secret Service agents escorted him out. Strickland had been vocal in the weeks leading up to the event, insisting that his exclusion was politically motivated due to his outspoken criticism of Trump’s ties to Israel and Jeffrey Epstein.  He mocked the event online, even parodying a famous photo of Trump at the Western Wall.  APC Governors Call for Transparent Congresses and Convention Ahead of Party Activities

The Progressives Governors’ Forum (PGF) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged transparent, consistent, and accountable management of the party’s upcoming ward, local government, state, zonal congresses, and national convention.

The call was made by the Forum’s Chairman and Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, while presenting a communiqué at the end of a high-level meeting held Wednesday at the Imo State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja. The session included members of the APC National Working Committee (NWC), led by National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda.

Governor Uzodimma emphasized that these standards must be applied uniformly across all states, including those where the APC currently has no governors. He stressed that transparency, consistency, and accountability at every stage are essential to building trust and credibility within the party.

“The PGF reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to party unity and internal harmony,” Uzodimma stated. He highlighted responsible leadership, clear communication, and collective discipline as key to bolstering public confidence in the APC’s democratic processes.

The Forum also reiterated its dedication to deepening internal democracy, fortifying party structures, and pursuing reforms that promote transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness nationwide.

During the meeting, the governors received a detailed briefing from the APC National Chairman on the ongoing national e-registration and digital membership update exercise. Uzodimma noted that the initiative has achieved significant growth, with notable increases in youth participation and the successful integration of National Identity Number (NIN) verification.

“This digital approach will enhance data-driven planning, provide better demographic insights, and strengthen grassroots engagement across communities,” he added.

The PGF formally endorsed the timetable and institutional framework approved by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) for the forthcoming congresses and the national convention. Uzodimma commended the leadership of Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda and the NWC for effectively guiding the process.

Additionally, the Forum announced a series of strategic engagements and state visits to reinforce grassroots structures and promote party cohesion. The visits are scheduled to commence in Taraba State on January 31.

The meeting also marked the formal welcome of the governors of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, and Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, into the PGF following their recent defection to the APC.

Reaffirming their support for national leadership, the governors expressed appreciation for President Bola Tinubu’s stewardship and pledged continued partnership to ensure good governance at all levels, advance national development, and consolidate democracy.
