 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Defence Minister Meets Veteran Missionary Peter Fretheim In Jos


The Honourable Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd), hosted veteran missionary and humanitarian Peter Fretheim at his residence in Jos.


During the visit, Fretheim offered prayers for the Minister, seeking guidance and strength in his role overseeing Nigeria’s defence and security.


Peter Fretheim has worked in Nigeria for over 28 years through SIM ECWA, focusing on humanitarian programs in Jos and surrounding communities. 


His work includes supporting orphans, widows, individuals affected by leprosy, and other vulnerable groups.


He has also documented his experiences through writing and continues to engage in community development initiatives.


General Musa, a retired military officer, has held several key positions in the Nigerian Armed Forces and currently serves as Minister of Defence.


The meeting reflects ongoing interactions between government officials and individuals involved in humanitarian and religious activities, highlighting collaboration and shared interest in national development.
