 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert celebrate birth of their first child

Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert Hough have welcomed their first child together.

The “Dancing with the Stars” judge and his wife celebrated the birth of a baby girl on Dec. 29. They shared the news Monday on Instagram, revealing her name and posting a black-and-white photo of their hands wrapped around the tiny feet of their daughter.

“Everley Capri Hough 🤍,” the post read. “Every step of our lives has led us to you. Our hearts have been cracked wide open, and our world is forever changed.”

Derek’s sister, Julianne Hough, also shared her excitement on Instagram, writing, “Welcome to the world, sweet angel Everley.”

The couple first announced they were expecting in July 2025 with a video on Instagram. They were married in 2023 and expressed their amazement at the new chapter in their lives, writing at the time, “We can’t believe the biggest thing to happen to us could be so small ♥️.”

The arrival of Everley comes two years after Erbert underwent an emergency craniectomy following a cranial hematoma diagnosis. She reflected last month on the intense journey of recovery, sharing that the experience had given her a “second chance at life” and allowed her to rediscover herself. “It was a whirlwind to say the least… But I’m truly grateful for it all, and so incredibly proud of myself and my body for everything it has endured. What a miracle it is that two years ago I was fighting for my life… and now, here I am creating life,” she wrote.
