 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring.  FRESH BENUE ATTACK AS SUSPECTED HERDERS KILL ONE ON AGAGBE-NAKA ROAD

One person has been killed in a renewed attack by suspected armed herders along the Agagbe–Naka–Agatu axis in Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State.


Security sources disclosed that the incident occurred on January 27 at about 6:01 p.m. on the Agagbe–Naka road.


According to the sources, military personnel alerted the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Naka Division through a distress call, reporting that a resident of Naka, identified as Iorsugh Genabe, was attacked and killed while travelling along the route by suspected herder bandits.


The DPO was said to have immediately mobilised a patrol team, alongside other tactical units, to the scene of the incident.


Police authorities later confirmed that the victim’s body was recovered and deposited at the Agagbe mortuary for autopsy.


Sources further revealed that efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the perpetrators, adding that the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has taken over the case for discreet investigation.


Meanwhile, security presence has been reinforced in the area to forestall further attacks and restore confidence among residents.
