 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  GUNMEN STRIKE IWANEV COMMUNITY, TWO KILLED, THREE ABDUCTED IN BENUE

A security alert has been raised following a deadly overnight attack on Iwanev community at Ugbema Junction in Buruku Local Government Area of Benue State.


Reports from the area indicate that a group of unidentified gunmen stormed the community under the cover of darkness, killing two residents and abducting three others to an unknown destination.


The incident has thrown the community into fear, with residents calling for urgent intervention to prevent further attacks.


Community sources appealed to the Benue State Government, under the leadership of Governor Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, and the Chairman of Buruku Local Government Area, Hon. Raymond Zege Aondoakura, to take immediate and decisive action to restore security and safeguard lives and property in the area.


Residents urged security agencies to intensify patrols and investigations to track down the perpetrators and secure the release of those abducted.
