The 2026 Appropriation Bill of Fifty Eight Point Four Seven Trillion Naira has scaled second reading in the House of Representatives.
The progress of the money bill followed a lead debate on the budget proposals by House Majority Leader Julius Ihonbvere which was unanimously adopted without dissension.
The majority leader urged other lawmakers to support the passage of the budget which prioritizes defence and security, and infrastructural development.
National Assembly Correspondent Mitaire Ikpen reports that Thursday's plenary began with a valedictory session in honour of the outgoing Clerk of the House, Yahaya Danzaria, with Speaker Abbas Tajudeen commending Danzaria's career of devoted service to the stability, integrity and continuity of Nigeria’s parliament and democracy in general
