LASPARK ANNOUNCES TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PUBLIC PARKS IN LAGOS FOR MAINTENANCE

The Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK) has announced the temporary closure of all public parks under its management across the state to enable routine maintenance and upgrade works.

In a statement issued on Thursday, January 9, LASPARK disclosed that the affected parks will be closed to the public from January 12 to January 31, 2026, following increased usage during the recent festive season.

The closure affects popular recreational centres such as Ndubisi Kanu Park, Alausa JJT Park, Dr. Finnih Abayomi Park, Oregun, and all other LASPARK-managed parks across Lagos State.

According to the Agency, the temporary shutdown is necessary to carry out essential landscaping, facility repairs, and general upgrades to ensure the parks remain safe, clean and enjoyable for residents and visitors.

LASPARK assured Lagosians that the maintenance exercise is part of its commitment to providing well-maintained green spaces that promote relaxation, wellness and environmental sustainability.
