 Minnesota Vikings part ways with GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah after four years

The Minnesota Vikings have dismissed general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, the team announced Friday. Executive vice president of football operations Rob Brzezinski will oversee football operations through the 2026 NFL Draft, following the team’s end-of-season organizational meetings.

Vikings owners Mark and Zygi Wilf expressed gratitude for Adofo-Mensah’s four years with the team. “These decisions are never easy,” they said, adding that they will begin a search for a new general manager after the draft, which runs April 23-25 in Pittsburgh. Brzezinski will manage the Vikings’ No. 18 overall pick.

Adofo-Mensah joined the Vikings in 2022. The team went 13-4 in his first season, 7-10 in 2023, 14-3 in 2024, and 9-8 in 2025, with quarterbacks Kirk Cousins, Sam Darnold, and J.J. McCarthy leading the offense at various points. Despite a strong 2024 passing attack, the Vikings struggled offensively in 2025, ranking near the bottom in total and passing yards.

The 44-year-old executive previously worked for the San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns and had signed a multi-year extension with Minnesota in May, participating in recent scouting events such as the Senior Bowl. The team emphasized that building a championship-contending roster remains its top priority.
