Lagos police launch investigation as jeweller  accuses its officers of harassment The Lagos State Police Command said it has commenced an investigation into a viral video of a jeweller accusing some policemen in the Festac area of the state of harassing him.  The command disclosed this in an X post on Saturday. The video, which circulated on X on Saturday morning, shows the businessman engaged in a struggle with some policemen. Later in the video, the businessman could be seen with a bloody face after allegedly sustaining a cut beside his right eye during the struggle with the police officers,  The jeweller later explained that the policemen from the Festac Division had stopped him for a routine search.  PRIVATE SCHOOL OWNERS GIVE BENUE GOVT ONE-WEEK ULTIMATUM OVER 'ILLEGAL' LEVIES

The National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), Benue State Chapter, has issued a one-week ultimatum to the Benue State Government to reverse what it described as exorbitant and illegal levies imposed on private schools across the state.


The association warned that failure by the government to address its demands within the stipulated period would result in a total and comprehensive shutdown of all private schools in Benue State.


NAPPS said the levies have placed unbearable financial pressure on school proprietors and threaten the sustainability of private education in the state. It called on the government to act urgently to avert disruption of academic activities and hardship for parents and students.
