 AU urges de-escalation as fighting displaces over 180,000 in South Sudan’s Jonglei state The Chairperson of the African Union Commission called for immediate de-escalation and strict adherence to South Sudan’s 2018 peace agreement, as renewed fighting in Jonglei State displaced more than 180,000 people and raised fears of further civilian harm. In a statement, African Union Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf said he was deeply concerned by the deteriorating security situation in parts of the country, particularly Jonglei, where escalating violence and inflammatory rhetoric have put civilians—including women and children—at heightened risk. South Sudanese authorities estimate the number of displaced in Jonglei at more than 180,000, the United Nations humanitarian agency OCHA said last week. RENOVATIONS ARE UNDERWAY AT MARSH FARM ON THE SANDRINGHAM ESTATE, REPORTEDLY PRINCE ANDREW'S NEXT RESIDENCE FOLLOWING HIS DEPARTURE FROM ROYAL LODGE IN WINDSOR.(PHOTO).

 Renovations are underway at Marsh Farm on the Sandringham Estate, reportedly Prince Andrew's next residence following his departure from Royal Lodge in Windsor.

 Workers have been spotted at the property installing updates and making improvements to prepare the home, which previously belonged to a tenant farmer and has been unoccupied for years. At least six workers were seen on site working both inside and outside the building despite winter weather conditions.


Prince Andrew gave 12 months' notice in October 2025 that he would surrender his lease on Royal Lodge, the 30-room property he has shared with Sarah Ferguson since 2004. A removal truck was spotted at Royal Lodge on January 14, and the couple must vacate by January 25, 2026. The move represents a significant downgrade from the 98-acre Royal Lodge estate, which includes a swimming pool, chapel, and multiple cottages.


Marsh Farm is located a few miles from Sandringham House, one of King Charles' private royal residences. The property features a main house with a gravel driveway, outbuildings, and a gated fence. According to reports, Sarah Ferguson will not be joining Andrew at Marsh Farm and is instead ready to pursue her own path. Any future accommodation arrangements will be privately funded by King Charles.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity.
