 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  SENATE SETS DATE FOR PASSAGE OF 2026 BUDGET


The Senate Committee on Appropriations says it is looking at the possibility of passing the 2026 budget in the third week of March.


At a special  meeting to outline legislative timeline of procedure on the budget, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, Senator Adeola Solomon  Olamilekan said, to ensure meticulous scrutiny, hard copies of the budget have been printed for the Chairmen of the standing committees.


 He added that budget defence engagements will hold between February 2nd and 13th 2026.


The committee equally has a plan to convene   an interactive session with key stakeholders, on February 9th with the theme, FROM BUDGET TO IMPACT, STRENGHTENING THE MICRO ECONOMIC STABILITY, ACCELERATING INFRASTRUCTURAL DELIVERY AND IMPROVING SECURITY THROUGH FISCAL DISCIPLINE AND EFFECTIVE IMPLEMENTATION OF 2026 BUDGET.


 The committee  hopes to meet with Federal Governments economic team on March 5th 2026 for a final look at all projections and adjustments before submission of the budget report at plenary for adoption and passage.
