 The Defence Headquarters says troops eliminated over 100 terrorists, arrested 345 terrorists, and rescued 393 kidnapped victims in the month of July. The Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Michael Onoja, stated this during the monthly Defence Media Operations briefing at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja. Major General Onoja added that during the period under review, 57 terrorists surrendered, over 1,000 arms and assorted ammunition were recovered, 18 illegal refining sites were destroyed, while 250,500 litres of stolen crude oil and refined petroleum products were recovered. Speaking further, Major General Onoja, on behalf of the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, reaffirmed the Armed Forces' commitment to the protection of lives and property nationwide, and their resolve to ensure that kidnapping, terrorism, secessionist agitation, and other forms of criminality are purged from society.

 Speaker Abbas Charges Security Agencies To Rescue Kidnaped Kurmin Wali Worshippers

‎Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen has charged the nation's security agencies to rescue more than one hundred worshippers recently abducted by suspected terrorists in Kurmin Wali community in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

‎The Speaker, in a statement, condemned the attack on the churches, while expressing concern over the wave of mass kidnappings around soft targets such as schools and places of worship in recent times.

‎Speaker Abbas however expressed confidence in the Tinubu administration to tackle insecurity and called for collective efforts towards making Nigeria a safe place for people, property, and businesses.

‎The Speaker commends the courage of Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State for providing the needed leadership at the sub-national level at this critical time. 

‎The Speaker prayed to God for the safe return of the abductors to their families and community.
