 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali.  17-YEAR-OLD SEMINARY STUDENT DECLARED MISSING IN BENUE 


8th February, 2026    


A 17-year-old final-year student of St. James Junior Seminary, Yandev, Asen Amos Aondosoo, has been declared missing after leaving his family residence on January 15, 2026.


Benue Info-pedia gathered that the teenager left home for an unknown destination and has not been seen since. His disappearance has raised concerns among family members and the seminary.


Efforts to locate the student have so far proved abortive, prompting his family to appeal to the public for assistance.


Anyone with useful information that could lead to his whereabouts is urged to contact his father, Mr. Asen Ngutor Felix, on 0907 087 7464 or 0704 034 0700.


The family has also appealed to Nigerians to help circulate the information widely to support ongoing efforts to find the missing student.
