 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  ANAMBRA STATE POLICE COMMAND ADDRESSES STUDENTS ON SCHOOL SAFETY


In furtherance of Anambra State Police Command's community policing and crime prevention strategies, the Command today, 11th February 2026, engaged students and school authorities in an interactive session focused on school safety, personal security awareness, and crime prevention.


During the interaction, the Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Department ACP Oruruo Harrison PSC enlightened the students of Sacred Heart Academy Ifite Ogwari, on the dangers of cultism, drug abuse, bullying, cybercrime, and other social vices. The officer also emphasised the importance of vigilance, responsible behaviour, and prompt reporting of suspicious activities in and around the school premises.


The Command encouraged students to build positive relationships with law enforcement agencies and reassured them of the Police’s readiness to respond swiftly to distress calls and security concerns affecting educational institutions.


The Police further urged school administrators to strengthen internal security measures and maintain close collaboration with security agencies to proactively address potential threats. The Command remains steadfast in its resolve to safeguard schools and create an enabling environment for academic excellence across the State.
