 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  BENUE POLICE REPELS ARMED ATTACK AT AWANSE, RESCUES ABDUCTED WOMAN 


The Benue State Police Command has repelled an attack by suspected armed herdsmen at Awanse community in Kwande Local Government Area and rescued an abducted woman.


Police Public Relations Officer of the Command DSP EDET UDEME stated that the suspected armed herdsmen invaded Awanse Community firing sporadically, but police teams swiftly engaged the assailants and forced them to flee the area.


The abducted woman was rescued unhurt and no life was lost during the incident at Awanse as peace has been restored in the area.

Meanwhile, the Command has provided an update on the incident at Abende community, which occurred few days ago . 


The statement says during sustained search and combing operations in the area, five (5) additional dead bodies were recovered, bringing the total number of fatalities in Abende community to ten (10).


The general security situation in the affected areas is presently calm, as intensive patrols, surveillance, and monitoring continue.


The Commissioner of Police, Benue State Police Command, Ifeanyi Emenari,  assures the good people of the state of the Command’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property and reiterates that all necessary operational measures are being sustained to prevent further attacks and bring perpetrators to justice.
