 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. Bill Gates canceled his planned keynote address at the AI Impact Summit in India at the last minute as renewed scrutiny over his past relationship with Jeffrey Epstein intensified. The Gates Foundation did not provide a specific reason for the decision, stating only that the move was made to ensure the summit’s focus remained on its core priorities. Gates had traveled to India for the event, and his attendance had remained uncertain throughout the week, with officials noting that it would ultimately be a personal decision.

Attention on Gates has grown following the release of draft emails found in Epstein’s account that allegedly referenced him. The drafts, which appear to have been written by Epstein, claim he arranged sexual encounters for Gates. Gates has denied those allegations, saying his interactions with Epstein were limited to philanthropic discussions at dinners and that he never visited Epstein’s private island or engaged in inappropriate conduct. The broader scrutiny comes amid renewed attention on individuals connected to Epstein, including ongoing investigations and legal proceedings involving other high-profile figures.
