Five armed robbery suspects arrested in Seshego after intelligence-driven police operation

Police in Limpopo have arrested five suspects linked to a string of armed robberies across Seshego, Matlala, and Phaudi.

Officers recovered two 9mm pistols, live ammunition, 18 cellphones, a laptop, and suspected stolen designer clothing and shoes.

The suspects were intercepted while fleeing in two vehicles shortly after a robbery at Ga-Manamela village.

An intelligence-led operation on Thursday, 12 February 2026, brought together the Provincial Tracking Team, Provincial Investigations Unit, and Polokwane Flying Squad. The team traced a white Toyota Corolla and a pink Chevrolet Spark traveling along Matlala Road and stopped them at Sengatane village.

Five occupants, aged between 25 and 30, failed to provide proof of ownership for the recovered items. Preliminary findings link them to multiple armed robberies where victims were threatened with firearms and robbed of valuables.

Police urge anyone robbed in the affected areas to come forward with proof of ownership to reclaim seized property.

The suspects face charges including robbery with aggravating circumstances, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, and possession of suspected stolen property. They are expected to appear in the Seshego Magistrate’s Court on 16 February 2026.
