 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  INEC RELEASES FINAL LIST FOR KANO STATE ASSEMBLY  BYE ELECTIONS 


Ahead of the bye elections to fill vacant seats at the Kano State House of Assembly for Ungoggo and Kano Municipal consiteuncies the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Kano has released the final list of candidates and political parties contesting the elections.


Resident Electoral Commissioner Abdu Zango disclosed this during a media briefing, where he assured residents of the commission’s commitment to conduct a free, fair, and credible electoral process.


Aisha Uba Ali reports reports that the bye elections are

scheduled to hold on the 21st of February.  The Kano state house of assembly  bye election  is aimed at filling the vacant seats of two members who passed away late last year.


Resident electoral commissioner,  Abdu Zango says nine political parties have duly submitted their candidates, adding that the published list represents the final list for the elections.


Despite being a bye election, the commission says it  has made adequate arrangements to cater for voters with special needs.


The elections in the two constituencies will be conducted across 1,014 polling units in 24 registration areas, with about 535,000 registered voters expected to participate in the exercise
