 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Kiefer Sutherland's case paused as DA orders further investigation into alleged ride-share altercation

The investigation into actor Kiefer Sutherland remains ongoing after his arrest last month on suspicion of making felony criminal threats, and prosecutors have not yet decided whether to file charges, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said Monday. Sutherland had been scheduled to appear in court in Los Angeles, but that appearance was postponed after prosecutors sent the case back to police for additional investigation. Authorities said the review is still active and no final determination has been made.

Sutherland was arrested on Jan. 12 after police responded to a report of an alleged altercation involving a ride-share driver near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles. He was taken into custody and later released after posting $50,000 bond, according to jail records. Law enforcement officials said the driver claimed Sutherland punched him multiple times and attempted to choke him during the confrontation. Police said there were no injuries that required medical treatment, and Sutherland was not arrested on suspicion of assault. The actor has not publicly commented on the incident. Sutherland is best known for his Emmy-winning role as Jack Bauer on the series “24” and for portraying President Thomas Kirkman on “Designated Survivor.” He is the son of the late actors Donald Sutherland and Shirley Douglas.
