 Trump announces Hamas disarmament and Israeli troop withdrawal agreement under Gaza ceasefire plan   President Donald Trump announced Thursday that Hamas has agreed to a plan to disarm and that Israel will withdraw its forces from Gaza as part of a U.S.-backed ceasefire framework. Trump described the agreement as a major step toward creating a new Palestinian government in Gaza that would work with the newly established Board of Peace to oversee the next stages of the plan. The president said the agreement would also provide Israel with increased security by preventing Gaza from being used as a launching point for future attacks. Details of the agreement were limited, and neither Israel nor Hamas immediately released statements responding to Trump’s announcement. The Board of Peace said Hamas had agreed to a roadmap for moving forward with the next phases of the ceasefire after months of negotiations.  KOGI GOVT ORDERS IMMEDIATE CLOSURE OF ALL SCHOOLS IN YAGBA WEST 


3rd February, 2026    


The Kogi State Government has ordered the immediate closure of all public and private schools in Yagba West Local Government Area.


The directive, which takes effect from Wednesday, February 4, 2026, was issued through an Executive Order from the Governor’s Office and communicated by the state Ministry of Education.


According to the order, all affected schools are to remain shut until further notice.


The government also issued a stern warning to private school operators, stressing that any school found violating the directive will be sealed without delay.


The development was confirmed by the Yagba West Education Secretary, Mr. Ogunjobi J. Michael, who urged school administrators to comply fully with the directive.


No reason was immediately given for the closure.
