Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA ) engages Lagos State Number Plant Production Authority (LSNPPA) on faded and damaged number plates.

As the General Manager/Chief Executive Officer,  LASCOPA, Afolabi Solebo, Esq., paid a courtesy visit to the management of the Lagos State Number Plate Production Authority (LSNPPA) as part of ongoing efforts to protect the rights of motorists in Lagos State.

He was received by the Managing Director/Chief Executive  Officer of LSNPPA, Mr. Olayanju Olayinka Cole.

The engagement focused on concerns surrounding faded and damaged motor vehicle number plates and the need for the procurement of new, standard plates to replace old and defective ones issued by the Lagos State Government.

This visit follows an earlier engagement held two weeks ago between LASCOPA and the Permanent Secretary, Motor Vehicle Administration, Mr. Rasheed Muri-Okunola, to address related challenges affecting motorists across the State.

During the meeting, the LSNPPA Managing Director/CEO advised motorists to take proper care of their number plates, noting that “your number plate is your identity on the road.”

He further cautioned motorists against cleaning number plates with chemically concentrated substances, including aromatic solvents, alcohol-based spirits, acetone, petrol, brake oil, kerosene, or abrasive materials, as these can damage number plates.

LASCOPA reiterates its commitment to safeguarding consumer and motorist rights and ensuring improved service delivery across Lagos State.
