There Are So Many People Around The President With A Rosy Picture Of What The Country Is — Onaiyekan I was not surprised the president wasn’t looking very happy, even his colleagues present. We knew this is different from what our president keeps receiving from people, and that is one of the things that worry us. We have the obligation to help him to appreciate the reality of the situation in which we have found ourselves.  John Cardinal Onaiyekan Archbishop Emeritus, Catholic Diocese of Abuja

President Trump orders release of documents on UFOs and alien life

President Donald Trump has ordered the release of government files related to UFOs and extraterrestrial life, seeking to shed light on questions about the existence of aliens. In a post on his social media platform Truth Social Thursday night, Trump said he directed U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and other federal agencies to “begin the process of identifying and releasing government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters.”

The announcement comes amid renewed public interest in UFOs and extraterrestrial life, fueled in part by former President Barack Obama, who recently suggested in a YouTube podcast that aliens are real. Obama later clarified that while the universe likely hosts life elsewhere, there was no evidence during his presidency of contact with extraterrestrials. Interest in the topic has long been stoked by secrecy surrounding Area 51, the Nevada test site used during the Cold War for top-secret aircraft programs, including the U-2 and B-2 bombers. Public attention intensified after leaked Pentagon Navy videos in 2017 showed unidentified objects, prompting Congress to hold its first UFO hearings in 50 years in 2022. That same year, the Pentagon created the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office to centralize reports of military UFO encounters. Curiosity surged again in 2023 when a retired Air Force officer claimed Congress was being kept in the dark about programs recovering and analyzing unidentified flying objects. The Pentagon denied those claims, leaving public fascination with UFOs and possible extraterrestrial life stronger than ever.
