 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  RENEWED HOPE INTERNATIONAL HORSE RACING DERBY: PRESIDENT TINUBU'S HORSE WINS


The Renewed Hope International Horse Racing Derby has ended in Daura, Katsina state, with the horse 'Ramadan', owned by President Bola Tinubu, emerging as the overall winner of the tournament.


Auwal Halilu reports that the derby attracted competitors from Nigeria, the Republic of Niger, and Burkina Faso, aims at reviving regional ties, promoting unity and cultural exchange, as well as preserving the rich equestrian heritage of the region.
