Russia’s Foreign Ministry on Saturday denounced the U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran, calling them “a pre-planned and unprovoked act of armed aggression against a sovereign and independent U.N. member state” and demanding an immediate end to the attacks in favor of diplomacy.
In a Telegram statement, the ministry accused the U.S. and Israel of using concerns over Iran’s nuclear program as a cover for pursuing regime change. It warned the strikes could trigger a “humanitarian, economic and possibly radiological catastrophe” and claimed the actions risk plunging the Middle East into uncontrolled escalation. Moscow also described the bombing of nuclear facilities under International Atomic Energy Agency safeguards as “unacceptable” and said it is prepared to assist in brokering a peaceful resolution, while holding Washington and Tel Aviv fully responsible for the crisis.
