SHE HAD TENDED BAR THERE FOR YEARS, SAVING MONEY UNTIL SHE COULD BUY THE BAR AND RUN IT HERSELF; ONLY TO BE GUNNED DOWN INSIDE IN A CRUEL AND COLD EXECUTION.(PHOTO).

She had tended bar there for years, saving money until she could buy the bar and run it herself; only to be gunned down inside in a cruel and cold execution.

30-year-old Courtney Drysdale was discovered deceased at approximately noon on Monday, February 2nd, inside of the rural Momence, Illinois bar she owned.

It was a brazen daytime robbery that ended in the merciless execution of Courtney, despite her complete cooperation. A young woman's life was brutally taken, leaving behind a grieving young daughter and a fiancée, for nothing more than the money in the cash register.

The killer thought he could get away with it by removing a recording device on the wall, but police recovered footage, and the public wasn't going to let him get away with it.

After the gruesome discovery, detectives with the Kankakee County Sheriff's Department responded and were able to recover shocking security footage that showed the entire heartbreaking ordeal.

According to  the KCSD, at approximately 11 a.m. this Monday, Courtney was inside getting ready to open her bar (The Line Bar) for the day, when 47-year-old Julius Burkes Jr. entered the establishment.

Burkes immediately brandished a handgun and demanded the money from the register.  Courtney complied with Burkes' demands immediately. After receiving the cash, Burke callously shot Courtney two times.

Kankakee County Sheriff Mike Downey described it in the following statement.  "Despite her cooperation, the suspect shot her twice, execution style, before fleeing the scene."

When the Sheriff's Department released images of Burke, pleading for information from the public, the response was overwhelming.  Thousands of tips poured in within hours of the image being released.

Due to these tips, investigators were able to identify the suspect and quickly take him into custody today, Tuesday afternoon.

Julius Burke Jr. was taken into custody at his Hammond, Indiana home. Burke is being held on a m*rder charge and is set to appear in court tomorrow (Wednesday) for an extradition hearing to bring him back to Illinois to face justice.

Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Courtney Drysdale. She was well known and very well liked by everyone who knew her.
