THE ANAMBRA STATE CHAIRMAN OF APGA OR ANY OTHER OFFICER OF THE PARTY LACKS THE AUTHORITY TO ENDORSE AN ASPIRANT FOR AN ELECTION WITHOUT UNDERGOING A CREDIBLE AND TRANSPARENT PRIMARY ELECTION- MAZI EJIMOFOR OPARA(NATIONAL PUBLICITY SECRETARY OF APGA). (PHOTO).


 The Anambra State Chairman of APGA or any other officer of the party lacks the authority to  endorse an aspirant for an election without undergoing a credible and transparent primary election- Mazi Ejimofor Opara(National Publicity Secretary of APGA)


National Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA)Mazi Ejimofor Opara has nullified  the endorsement of the Mayor Idemili-South, Amaka Obi, by the Anambra state Chairman of APGA.


Apart from some video of the endorsement circulating on social media, the mayor of Idemili-South, Hon. Amaka Obi had early appreciated the Anambra State Chairman of APGA on her official Facebook page, where she thanked him and some other party members for donating a some of 5million for her reelection.


In another statement release the national publicity secretary of APGA, it was stated that the endorsement is not authorized. Below is the official press release by APGA national Publicity Secretary.


 


PUBLIC DISCLAIMER!!


The attention of the National Working Committee of APGA has been drawn to a video circulating on social media, purportedly showing the Anambra State Chairman of our great Party openly endorsing an aspirant as the candidate of the Party in Idemili South LGA in the forthcoming Local Government elections in Anambra State. 


While investigation is still ongoing to determine the veracity or authenticity of the alleged video, the National Working Committee categorically disclaims the  said action and wishes to state as follows:


1. The State Chairman of our Party or indeed any other officer of the party lacks the authority to make such a categorical statement or purportedly endorse an aspirant for an election without undergoing a credible and transparent primary election.


2. The sweeping statement contained in the said video runs contrary to the democratic principles and ideals upon which APGA is founded and same is hereby condemned.


3. The National Working Committee of APGA has set up a Committee to investigate the now viral video with a view to determining the veracity or otherwise of the alleged video and to mete out appropriate disciplinary measures. 


4. APGA wishes to reassure all aspirants of our Party in the forthcoming APGA Anambra State LG primaries that adequate arrangements have been made to guarantee a free, fair, and credible process.


5. All aspirants are enjoined to familiarize themselves with the approved primary elections Guidelines and the Constitution of the Party for proper guidance.


6. The National Working Committee cautions the State leadership and all aspirants of our Party to desist from all words or actions that may bring the image of the Party to ridicule or public opprobrium. To this, the party will not hesitate to disqualify any aspirants that engages the use of foul language, insults or any other form of invective aimed at tarnishing the image of a co-aspirant.


Once again, we wish to convey our commitment to a free and fair process to all aspirants and wish them good luck as they pursue their legitimate quest to serve the people.
