 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  BENUE STATE POLICE RECOVERS SIX BODIES AFTER ATTACK ON FARMERS IN APA


Benue State Police Command says it has recovered six bodies after the attacks on cashew farmers by suspected armed herders on Wednesday at Asaba, Ojantele, and Okpette communities, in Apa Local Government Area of the state.


A Statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Benue State Police Command, DSP Edet Udeme, explained that the farmers were reportedly working on their farms when the assailants launched the attack.

Joint security teams comprising operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, the military, and local youths from the affected communities immediately mobilized into the forest to carry out search and rescue operations

and recovered six (6) bodies. 


It adds, efforts are ongoing to ensure the safety of residents in the affected communities.


The Commissioner of Police Benue State Command CP Ifeanyi Emenari assured the public that reinforcements have been sent to facilitate a more thorough and coordinated operation in the affected forests with the aim of tracking down those responsible for the attack.

He urged members of the public to remain calm and continue to cooperate with security agencies by providing credible information that may assist ongoing operations.
