BODYCAM FOOTAGE OF JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE'S LONG ISLAND DWI ARREST TO BE MADE PUBLIC. (PHOTO).

Bodycam footage of Justin Timberlake's Long Island DWI arrest to be made public

Bodycam footage of Justin Timberlake’s June 2024 DWI arrest on Long Island will be released to the media, though portions of the video will be redacted, court records show.

Timberlake’s legal team had previously sued the Village of Sag Harbor to block the release, arguing the footage showed him “in an acutely vulnerable state” and could cause “severe and irreparable harm” to his reputation. The lawsuit was in response to a Freedom of Information Law request. The pop star’s attorneys and the village later reached an agreement allowing the footage to be released with redactions. Acting Supreme Court Justice Joseph Farneti said the redacted release “does not constitute an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy.”

The full bodycam recording includes about eight hours of footage from Timberlake’s traffic stop and arrest, though it is unclear how much of that will be shared under the agreement. Sag Harbor Mayor Thomas Gardella said officials are aiming for transparency with the release. Timberlake, 45, ultimately pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of driving while ability impaired, received a fine and community service, and recorded a public safety message urging others not to drive after drinking.
