 Charly Boy Labels Omoyele Sowore an 'APC Spy' Over Criticism of Abia Governor Alex Otti


Veteran Nigerian entertainer and activist Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has publicly branded former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore an “APC spy” and a “green snake under green grass” following Sowore’s recent remarks dismissing Abia State Governor Alex Otti’s performance.


The sharp exchange escalated on Monday, March 23, 2026, after Sowore, in a widely circulated video, described Otti as a “failure” who has only achieved “half transformation” in Abia State rather than the full progress claimed by supporters.


“I can confirm to everyone that Alex Otti is a failure, he is only doing half transformation in Abia State. I don’t believe in that,” Sowore stated during reflections on his recent visit to Aba for a protest rally.


Reacting swiftly on X (formerly Twitter), Charly Boy fired back, accusing Sowore of hidden political motives and longstanding duplicity.


“I no surprise say you fit talk dis kin tin. Mr Sowore wey I encounter since Buhari ‘Resume or Resign’ protest, is a snake in the green grass,” Charly Boy posted.


He drew a direct comparison between Sowore and controversial commentator Reno Omokri, suggesting both are driven by personal agendas but differ in presentation.


“The only difference with him and Reno be say Reno dey show him hunger, Sowore dey hide him own. He’s an APC spy, if you know you know,” Charly Boy added.
