 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali.  Corey Feldman claims Oscars left him out of planned Rob Reiner tribute


Corey Feldman has spoken out about being excluded from the upcoming Oscars tribute to director Rob Reiner. The ceremony’s In Memoriam segment will feature actors from Reiner’s films, including Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan from When Harry Met Sally. 


Feldman, who starred in Stand By Me alongside Jerry O’Connell, Wil Wheaton, and River Phoenix, claimed on social media that he was not invited to participate, though he believes O’Connell and Wheaton were asked. 


He suggested his outspoken advocacy about childhood abuse may have played a role but stressed the tribute should remain focused on honoring Reiner.


In his post, Feldman urged fans not to petition for his inclusion, saying his co-stars would represent the film beautifully. 


He emphasized that he would honor Reiner in his own way, while acknowledging the director’s profound influence on him as a young actor. 


Feldman recalled how Reiner’s compassion and guidance helped shape the performances of the four child actors in Stand By Me, creating a lasting bond during filming.


Reiner’s death in December 2025 shocked Hollywood, after he and his wife Michele Singer Reiner were found murdered in their Los Angeles home. 


Their son Nick has since been charged in connection with the killings. The acclaimed filmmaker left behind a legacy of beloved classics, including The Princess Bride, Misery, and This Is Spinal Tap. 


Feldman, who described himself as “deeply in shock” at the time, continues to pay tribute to Reiner’s memory, even as the Academy prepares its own onstage farewell.
