 TROOPS APPREHEND SUSPECTED TERRORIST COLLABORATORS, FAMILY OF ISWAP FINANCE CHIEF SURRENDERS, RECOVER LOGISTICS ITEMS Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have continued to sustain pressure on  terrorists through series of intelligence-led operations that resulted in the arrest of suspected terrorist collaborators, the surrender of the family members of a senior ISWAP commander, and the recovery of terrorist logistics items. In one of the operations conducted on 27 July 2026, troops of 5 Brigade arrested six ISWAP collaborators in Damasak, Borno State. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were allegedly generating funds for the terrorist group through the procurement and sale of cattle at designated markets in Gubio, Damasak and Ajuwango. Items recovered from the suspects included one Volkswagen Golf vehicle, vehicle keys, four mobile phones of different brands, cow meat and the sum of ₦317,950.00.  DANGOTE TRUCK COLLIDES  WITH WATER TANKER ON OTUKPO FEDERAL ROAD 


A truck belonging to the Dangote Group has collided with a water tanker along the Otukpo Federal Road in Benue State.


The accident occurred opposite Asalane, causing temporary disruption to traffic flow in the area.

 Eyewitnesses said both the heavy-duty vehicles were involved in a head-on collision, forcing motorists to slow down as onlookers gathered at the scene.


While the circumstances leading to the crash remain unclear, residents described the impact as significant, with visible damage to the vehicles.

 However, there was no immediate official confirmation of casualties as of the time of filing this report.


Motorists plying the busy Otukpo corridor were advised to exercise caution, as security personnel and road users worked to ease congestion.


The Otukpo Federal Road is a major route linking communities within Benue State, and accidents involving articulated vehicles have raised fresh concerns about road safety and compliance with traffic regulations.
