Senator Tinubu was represented at the event held at the Velodrome Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja by wife of the Vice-president Her Excellency, Hajiya Nana Kashim Shettima.  Her Excellency Senator Tinubu applauded the athletes' resilience in the course of the Games. FIVE MEMBERS OF THE SAME FAMILY HAVE DIED IN A TRAGIC ROAD ACCIDENT ALONG THE DAMATURU–MAIDUGURI HIGHWAY IN YOBE STATE. (PHOTOS).

 Five members of the same family have d!ed in a tragic road accident along the Damaturu–Maiduguri highway in Yobe State.


The incident occurred on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.


The deceased identified as Hajjagana Dahiru Zayi, Ibrahim Dahiru Zayi, Muhammad Dahiru Zayi, Hauwa Dahiru Zayi, and another family member, were residents of Potiskum Local Government Area. 


A relative of the victims, Dahiru Musa Talba, who confirmed the development in a Facebook post said three other relatives sustained varying degrees of injuries.


Talba said the injured victims were rushed to the General Hospital, Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, where they are currently receiving treatment.


The spokesperson for the Yobe State Police Command, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, said persons were confirmed dead in the accident, while others sustained injuries.


He added that an investigation is currently ongoing to ascertain the cause of the accident.


“The accident involved members of the same family. Five persons were confirmed dead, while others sustained varying degrees of injuries,” he said.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
