 U.S equipment, experts arrive at Kenya Ebola facility despite court order, protests Around 20 flights carrying medical equipment and specialist staff have landed at a base in Kenya where the U.S. ​government is continuing to build an Ebola quarantine facility despite protests and Kenyan court orders blocking it, according to flight data and officials. At least two ‌people have been killed in protests in the central Kenyan town of Nanyuki, home to the Kenyan air force base where the U.S. military is building a 50-bed unit for Americans who might be exposed to the virus, which has infected hundreds in Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. A Kenyan court first ordered work on the Ebola facility to be suspended on May ​28, yet U.S. military flights into Nanyuki continued in the days that followed, according to data from flight-tracking service Flightradar24. FIVE MEMBERS OF THE SAME FAMILY HAVE DIED IN A TRAGIC ROAD ACCIDENT ALONG THE DAMATURU–MAIDUGURI HIGHWAY IN YOBE STATE. (PHOTOS).

 Five members of the same family have d!ed in a tragic road accident along the Damaturu–Maiduguri highway in Yobe State.


The incident occurred on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.


The deceased identified as Hajjagana Dahiru Zayi, Ibrahim Dahiru Zayi, Muhammad Dahiru Zayi, Hauwa Dahiru Zayi, and another family member, were residents of Potiskum Local Government Area. 


A relative of the victims, Dahiru Musa Talba, who confirmed the development in a Facebook post said three other relatives sustained varying degrees of injuries.


Talba said the injured victims were rushed to the General Hospital, Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, where they are currently receiving treatment.


The spokesperson for the Yobe State Police Command, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, said persons were confirmed dead in the accident, while others sustained injuries.


He added that an investigation is currently ongoing to ascertain the cause of the accident.


“The accident involved members of the same family. Five persons were confirmed dead, while others sustained varying degrees of injuries,” he said.
